SlimCut Media launches exclusive iPhone web mobile outstream video ad technology
The leader in outstream video ad innovation releases breakthrough technology that unlocks massive video inventory on iPhone web browsers
New York, NY, June 4, 2015 — SlimCut Media, the leader in outstream advertising innovation, has introduced the industry’s first outstream video advertising unit that is fully compatible on iPhone web browsers.
In the past, outstream video ads could not run on iPhone web browsers because iOS forces “full-screen mode” when it detects video content. SlimCut Media’s exclusive addition to their SplitBox™ technology auto-plays video ads within iOS publisher’s content, creating a consistent user experience across all devices.
“On average, it unlocks 50 per cent more video ad inventory on mobile,” said Damien Veran, president of SlimCut Media. “Others have attempted to combat the ‘forced full-screen’ issue with in-content GIFs and Cinemagraphs. This new technology is truly innovative because you are watching the actual video ad in-content, not a moving image.”
Like previous versions of SplitBox™, the new addition is 100 per cent viewable, and only plays when the viewer can see the entire video. Additionally, the player is muted by default.
SlimCut Media’s premium publisher clients – which include IAC College Humor, Toronto Star, Postmedia and La Presse – will significantly increase their mobile video inventory as the new SplitBox™ is rolled out. Part of this inventory will be available to advertisers through the Upscale™ private programmatic marketplace.
